Vision
To impart quality technical education and field training to U.G. and P.G. students and create confidence to meet and accept the present day challenges of the field. With this aim, the department has vision to develop, convert and make each laboratory a full-fledged one having updated modern equipments and instruments to carryout not only the routine academic and research activities but also to offer high quality technical consultancy services to government and private organizations. Also, we have an ambitious vision to provide adequate facilities to the faculty members of the department to pursue doctoral programmes and upgrade and update their knowledge in everyday changing technological scenario.
Goals
Developing a full fledged R & D centre To have state of art Laboratory facilities, Computing and Library facilities for P.G.Students To create and provide adequate facilities to persue Research and Doctoral studies byfaculty members and students. To evolve plans to reinforce the regular academic activities through periodical field training and visits to important on going project sites Plans have understanding with reputed firms offering facilities to carry out project works and M.Tech dissertation To start new P.G.Programmes depending on the need To convert the department Computer Centre in to a well equipped software centre To encourage staff members to actively involve in technical consultancy services To establish and develop Structural Laboratory for the benefit of P.G.Students To encourage and orient P.G.students in research fields
Overview
Started in the year 1979, the department offers Bachelors Degree Course in Civil Engineering and Masters Degree Programme with Structural Engineering specialization. The department has been offering materials testing facilities and technical consultancy services. It also conducts Continuing Education Programmes for PWD Engineers. Over the years, the department has received overwhelming response from all fronts. While the Three of the faculty members have doctoral qualification, others are Post Graduates & Persuing Ph.D in various disciplines from reputed institutions. The department has always produced best results at the university examinations. Our students have occupied key positions in organizations like Larson & Toubro, Telco, Hindustan Construction Co, Seabird Naval Base etc.
