TWO DAY’S WORKSHOP ON “TRAIN THE TRAINER PROGRAME” – 2017.

The department of Library and Information Centre at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology organized a 2 Day’s workshop on “Train the Trainer Programe” on 27th and 28th April 2017 with VTU Consortium. The Workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest,  Dr. Satish Annigeri (VTU Registrar).

The programe was merged into two events. The first one was “One Day Workshop on Use of E-Resources for Teaching and Research” for the faculty and research scholars of the institute along with the Librarians of affiliated institutes and Second one was “Two Day’s Workshop on Train the Trainer Programe” for exclusively Librarians of affiliated institutes.

The totals of 30 Librarians were registered online and 18 Library professionals registered on spot for “Two Day’s Workshop on Train the Trainer Programe”. The total of 80 Faculties and Research Scholars registered for the “One Day Workshop on Use of E-Resources for Teaching and Research”.

 TAKE AWAY DRIVE (JOURNALS/ MAGAZINES) – 2016

KLS’s Gogte Institute of Technology Dept. of Library and Information Centre is Conducting Take Away Drive Initiative Event at  Library & Information Centre held on 16th Sept 2016. Take Away Drive: Inaugurated by Library Committee Chairman  & HOD (E&E) Dr. D. R. Joshi.

Under this initiative, the technical &non-technical old magazines will be kept separately at Library. Staff and Students are allowed to pick the magazine as per their interest & Take to home (No need to return the magazine).

OFFICIALLY RELEASED MOBILE APP – 2016

KLS’s Gogte Institute of Technology Dept. of Library and Information Centre is Library App Inaugural Event at Library & Information Centre held on  9th August 2016. Officially released Mobile App : Inaugurated by M.R Kulkarni (BOM Chairman),  G.C Chairman & Members, Principal A.S Deshpande presided over the event.

CELEBRATED LIBRARIANS DAY – 2015

The GIT, Library and Information Centre, had the unique opportunity of celebrating the Librarians Day, held on 12th August 2015. Librarian had given brief introduction about S. R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science. In India 12th August 2015 is celebrated as Librarians Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by Ranganathan to the Library. 123rd Birth anniversary of Dr. S.R Ranganathan,

NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK – 2014

The GIT, Library and Information Centre, had the unique opportunity of celebrating the National Library Week, in November 2014 (17th to 20th).

 The Celebration start with inaugural function, the various events has been conducted for the students, we had a competition that was unique the students prepared a one minute Video Clips about Do’s and Don’ts at the library. There was  other event on essay competition on “Role of Library in my Personality Development”.

TWO DAY’S NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON KOHA: OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE FOR LIBRARY
AUTOMATION – 2013.

The Library & Information Centre was organized Two Day’s National Workshop on KOHA: Open Source Software for Library Automation during 2nd & 3rd Feb 2013. The Workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guests & Resource Persons Dr. Sunita Barve (Sr. Technical Officer, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune) and Dr. Nanaji Shewale (Librarian – Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune) in presence of Dr. A.S. Deshpande – Principal, Gogte Institute of Technology, Belgaum.

Total 38 participants (LIS professionals and Students) from the different parts of India viz., Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, have attended and benefited with the workshop.
