I.E.(I)-Student's Chapter

 

The Department has Institution of Engineers (India) Student Chapter for which all the students of our Department are student members.

The chapter conducts various technical activities like Expert Talks, Technical Visits etc.

  • Dr.A.S.Deshpande, Principal, G.I.T., is the Chairman of IE(I) Student's Chapter.
  • Shri.S. B. Halbhavi, Associate Professor, is the Advisor and Mr. Srinivas Karajgi, 7th Sem (EE) is the Convenor of the chapter.

Activities under the banner of IE(India) student chapter (Electrical) for Acadamic year 2012-13:

  1. The Inauguration function of I.E. (I) activities for the acadamic year 2012-13 was organized on 1st of August 2012.
  2. Students orientation program was organized on 1st of August 2012 where Prof P.V. Gopikrishna and Prof. S. G. Kulkarni delivered talks on "Education Ethics" and "Modern Approach to Technical Education" respectively.
  3. Dr. D. R. Joshi delivered a seminar on "Selection of Good Project" for final year students on 11th of August 2012 to facilitate them to make a right decision.
  4. An Alumni Interaction session was organized for the final year students on 11th of August 2012 where Miss. Shraddha Panda, Team lead at Control Components Inc. and Mr. Dhritiman Sharma, System Sales Engineer at Honeywell Automation India Ltd. discussed about "Career in Core Stream" to generate awareness amongst students about life beyond software.
  5. Prof. D. B. Kulkarni, Head of Electrical Dept., G. I. T. - Belgaum delivered a talk on "Literature Survey for Project Work" organized for students of Final year on 14th of August 2012.
  6. Shri I. T. Patil, T&C Engineer, Mitsubishi Electric - Japan delivered a talk on "Automation in Substations" where he stressed the need to study various engineering courses in depth so as to develop analytical skills and problem solving ability. He specifically stressed on study of Control Systems and elaborated the role of Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) in providing quality power at all instances.
