Bachelor of Architecture

Program Brief:

The program incorporates formal courses as prescribed by the Council of Architecture and the Visvesvaraya Technological University, as well as informal activities and interactions. Thus, learning of Architecture becomes an on-going quest for excellence.

The course consists subjects ranging from Design and Planning, Arts and Humanities, Science and Technologies, Practice and Management components. The dynamic academic programme ensures that while students progress from the basic to complex and from general to particular, they acquire synthesis of awareness, skills and applications.The course offers degree Bachelor of Architecture abbreviated as B.Arch.

The course shall be of five academic year’s duration and conducted in ten semesters with each semester having duration of 16 weeks.

Scheme of Examination and Teaching

Eligibility for Admissions:

Admission for the first year of the course shall be open to the students who have passed the two year Pre-University examination conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board with Mathematics as a subject of study.

OR

Candidates who possesses international Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as a compulsory subject of exam.

OR

10+2 of the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) with Mathematics as a subject of study.

OR

Those who have passed any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent there to.

OR

The three year Diploma Holders in any stream recognized by Government of Karnataka, or any other State govt. or Central government or any other Diploma qualification considered equivalent there to by this University, who have secured not less than 50% of the aggregate marks are eligible for admission to the first year of B.Arch course. However, there shall not be any exemption of any subject at the B.Arch degree course

All the candidates seeking admission to B.Arch shall pass the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. Currently, the pass marks is 80 out of 200 in the NATA. This requirement is to be fulfilled by all candidates including those belonging to scheduled casts, scheduled tribes and other classified groups.
