History of any Institution is nothing but the history of individuals who
sacrifice all their time, money and energy for building it over the decades. During the pre-independence time, when
legal education was very expensive and not within the reach of a common man,
Karnatak Law Society was established with an intention to make education,
particularly legal education easier for the common man by starting a Law college
at Belgaum. A group of freedom fighters and eminent lawyers, with a
distinguished vision and totally selfless service attitude, dedication, a
crystal clear mission of imparting value based education of high standards, established
the Karnatak Law Society in the year
1939 and later extended their educational activities by establishing science,
commerce, engineering and management institutions, etc. A recent addition to
this list is a primary school to bridge the gap between elementary education
and college education.
It is difficult to establish an institution, but it is all the more difficult
to run it successfully as, it needs efficiency, sincerity and honesty of
purpose. Sacrifice is a proper compendium for all these virtues. It is due to
the selfless services rendered by the founder members as well as the tireless
and sincere work devotedly done by the younger generation who have shouldered
the responsibility of successfully running the educational institutions
established by the society, due to the efforts of whom, is where the Karnatak
Law Society stands today. The Karnatak
Law Society has been excellently managing a number of Educational
Institutions including the first Law College in North Karnataka, Raja
Lakhamgouda Law College, and other colleges like Gogte College of Commerce, a
Science College, a Polytechnic Institute, a top notch Business School,
Institution of Management Education & Research (IMER), a reputed
Engineering college Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), and a Primary
School. Today, in addition to leading Lawyers, the Society has a pool of
dedicated Professionals like Engineers, Doctors, Industrialists and Chartered
Accountants as it’s members. |
